Lindsay is a graduate of UNC Charlotte and an IT/Operations Project Manager for Accountable Healthcare Staffing. Her history in service began with Hands on Charlotte, the Charlotte Rescue Mission, and the Charlotte Affiliate for Susan G. Komen. In 2009 Lindsay participated in the Foundation for the Carolinas’ Impact Fund for Emerging Philanthropists program, which connected her with Neal Emmons, the visionary for Project One. Lindsay joined the inaugural Board of Directors for Project One in 2010 as Co-Chair of the Scholarship Committee and Board Secretary. Over the last nine years, Lindsay’s commitment to Project One was a priority even when her family moved to the coast of the Carolinas. Having moved back to Charlotte, Lindsay was honored to accept the Board Chair position in November of 2018.

Why Project One?

I believe everybody deserves equal access to education without the paralyzing fear of debt upon graduation. Additionally, we focus on single parent families whose income is enough to live comfortably but not enough to save for college, which was my family situation. My parents divorced when I was 15 and there was no college savings account when I graduated high school. Friends from church who knew our situation and my intention to attend college offered to sponsor my education. I worked with the wife of the couple every semester on budgets, grades, and general life skills. Because of their generosity I graduated debt free and with a desire to give back in the education space.
